Aero Pilates
Aero Pilates is the new and improved
version of the classic workout designed by Joseph Pilates. Basic Pilates is meant to strengthen muscles while
toning and aligning your body one set of muscles at a time. By adding an Aero Pilates machine and other workout
equipment to your daily Pilates exercise routine you can greatly increase the quality of your workout by training
more than one set of muscles at a time.
While you may already use some Pilates equipment in your daily work out, things like an
exercise ring or resistance ball still only allow you to focus on one set of muscles at a time. The use of a full
function Pilates reformer will allow you to workout several sets of muscles while providing a mild cardio workout
as well.
The Stamina AeroPilates free-form cardio rebounder is a popular choice among seasoned
Pilates participants. With a price tag of around $500 this machine comes with several accessories including two
workout DVDs, a wall chart and four elastic cords with varying resistance levels.
This piece of Pilates workout equipment features a small trampoline that allows you to
push yourself back and forth, with varying levels of resistance while toning and aligning your body. The bouncing
process provides a solid cardio vascular workout that is just as effective as running on a treadmill, but doesn't
cause the same damage to your joints since your body is in a horizontal position.
Another great tool to supplement your aero Pilates machine is the Stamina AeroPilates DVD
set. The full collection contains five different DVDs one for each workout level 1-3, one that is specifically for
your lower body and another for your upper body. Each workout runs between 30 and 40 minutes and gives you step by
step directions so that you can get the most out of your Pilates reformer. The videos include an exercise review,
warm up session and routine to be used with your workout equipment.
About The Aero
Pilates Machine
As with any new workout routine or machine it is important to take things one step at a
time. Pilates reformers come with varying levels of resistance and starting at the lower end of the scale will help
you avoid muscle strain or injury. As you grow more comfortable with your new Pilates equipment you can increase
the resistance as well as the number of repetitions you do for each exercise to bump your workout up a notch and
keep your body tone and fit. If you do find yourself with severe or lingering muscle pain after a cardio Pilates
workout, you should contact a physician.
By investing in a Pilates cardio rebounder or reformer you can easily multiply the
effectiveness of your daily workout. You will be able to combine the muscle toning and alignment that comes from
basic Pilates exercises with a simple and entertaining cardio workout, but you won't have to increase the amount of
time you spend on your exercise routine. Take your classic Pilates exercises to the next level by picking up some
equipment and breaking into a new and improved workout routine with aero Pilates.
